Waitrose in Kingston. Rosalind Report 31/10/10

I am not sure whether you are aware that Waitrose in Kingston is stocking kosher bread and challas. A brand called “Burgen” has a soya and linseed loaf with the SKA (Sephardi Kashrut Authority) logo, while “Buckingham foods” does a rye bread and challas. These have the KLBD label. I haven’t checked out Surbiton Waitrose yet but as they all tend to stock the same ranges I wouldn’t be surprised if they also have these items.

I am sure that the community would appreciate being given this information.

Waitrose in Richmond

No recent reports. This from 2010

Waitrose in Richmond is now stocking a good range of kosher food and also some dry goods.

Please would you let the community know as I'm sure that some members do occasionally shop in Richmond and its much closer than Cobham for many people!

On the chilled section they are stocking herring, chopped herring, tuna bites, fish balls, Lockshen Pudding, salmon fishcakes, hummous, chrane, latkes, paprika beef, various dips, cheese, smoked salmon and more.

Also, assorted packets cold meats, including pastrami, turkey, and chopped liver, liver sausage, wursht, viennas, cocktail viennas and more.

They are also stocking Gilberts fresh meats including pickled brisket, minced beef, steaks and joints. (I have been told that the fresh meats are selling as soon as they are delivered!)

Dry goods include candles, memorial candles, biscuits, soup powders.

Frozen chicken pieces and whole chickens have been requested.

If we don't all try and support this, we will lose this facility.

Tesco on the A3 have almost discontinued the large range of frozen goods that they offered a year ago. Asda on the A3 has almost nothing.

Apart from Waitrose in Cobham, this is the largest range of kosher goods that I've seen South of the River!!

ASDA

Asda off the A3 is useless. Found 1 or 2 items but that was that.

Tesco in New Malden

TZ Report 01/12/11

Kosher stuff is in two places

Non Frozen Kosher is now part of Halal(!!!!) , so just find that, and you'll find the Kosher stuff, of which there isn't a lot,

You can get some yummy non-Rakusen matzo

The freezer cabinet is even more uselss than earlier report - they only had frozen chicken legs. Not worth bothering really. Update 2311/11.
